So we are all worried at this moment about our jobs, our cashflow and our general wellbeing. Without saying the C word, the life we once knew has come pretty close to a grinding halt.
Hats off to our essential workers and healthcare professionals who at this time are working harder then ever. We are truly grateful. The value in those professions which keep us safe and cared for at times like these, is so priceless right now.
With this being said, Everyone’s jobs and profession’s are just as important to each individual, as they have provided all of us with the ability to work within our passions , a sense of purpose and most importantly a livelihood above all other things.
So if you follow my blogs usually (far and few between), or my social pages you would know I work in a non essential industry at this time, including the work I do in my a freelance business. The work is of course for the most part tactile and in person.
There was always a level of un-comfortability in moving forward with my bookings as this situation escalated, but I was lucky enough to implement changes within my business at the same time the government made the calls.
I felt supported and my decisions validated in that exact moment.
I know others in my industry have been hit much harder than me, but still choose to see this as a move for humanity over lost business, diminished cash flow and work. Yes this hits us right where it hurts , but let’s take the opportunity to have another look at business and how we can work with our clients and followers.
I am using this blog to make sure I stay connected to my audience and work on my remote services and social presence. My clients and following need to know they are not alone in all of this. Just to say we are not essential therefor people do not need us right now, is a misconception.
Morale needs a boost and we have something special to offer here.
We want the video chat to be as important as any face to face meeting and how you choose to present yourself.
We want to sprinkle self love back into your days in how you show up for work even if it is at home.
We want you to re-connect to your creative side and experiment with makeup styles that you never had the time for before.
Above all be a source of entertainment and inspiration for others.
My guidance and support is still available at these times through my services, be it lessons, one on one consultations and of course those complimentary tips and tricks I like to share on my socials from time to time. We are living in a purely digital world for the moment, so being able to continue to do these sorts of things remotely is a Godsend!
I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU:
What information relating to Beauty/Makeup is important to you right now! Where most beauty/makeup stores have closed their physical shopfronts, How can I, as a professional artist of 15 years, help you?
For E.g. and probably a good place for me to start: A Makeup Artists guide to your Online Makeup shopping perhaps?
We all need to pull together at this time of uncertainty as this is our new “Business As Usual”.
To Know I still have the ability to help my clients and following, is just as important for re-connecting to MY passion, MY purpose and MY livelihood too.
Looking forward to hearing from you all!!
Much Love Gaby M
